Is it just me?

When you seem to know a person who seems to think the same way but, you've never actually met them, do you have a desire to get to meet them or is that just me? That's my problem with reading. As a kid, I mostly read people who'd already been gone from the world for a long time. So even though I had a desire to meet them and talk to them, the best way to do that was through their writings. But now for a long while I've been reading those who are alive and still writing.
Sometimes it just a thought they so profoundly wrote describing how I feel to such an acute accuracy that I wish I was having tea with them in that moment. Alas! it not to be. Mostly because even from an array of them, those who live even in US live on the east coast and do most of their book reading around there. However, it does lead me to think - If, it is just me...

Is it just me
who thinks these things?
Is it just me
who wanders here?
Is it just me
who asks these questions?
Is it just me
who wonders in night?
But then I heard
a distant whisper
"...is it just me?"
And again I'm back
to wondering if,
is it just me
who want's to reach out,
across the abys
to a similar sound?
Is it just me
who fosters this desire
to see if someone else
is thinking the same things...
