Ego

Oh the egos
Oh the irony
Those who created commonwealth
those who fight for republic
oppose democracy
time and time again
centuries came and went by
yet nothing's really changed
we still fight for rights
the suffragettes began
but really started
eons before their time
oh the egos!
we cater to
every day every  second
to accomplish the
most minuscule of tasks
like finishing a conversation civilly.
How long shall we endure this?
How long will it go on?
How long will we,
the ones who genuinely care
become scapegoats for the dawn?
